Wukong Sun will make its way to Nintendo Switch in a few days

Wukong Sun: Black Legend, a game currently available for pre-order on the US eShop, faces an uncertain future due to striking similarities to the acclaimed title, Black Myth: Wukong. While drawing inspiration is common in game development, Wukong Sun: Black Legend appears to go beyond inspiration, exhibiting elements that strongly suggest copying. The visual style, the protagonist wielding a staff, and the plot synopsis bear a close resemblance to Game Science's successful game.

This blatant imitation raises concerns about potential copyright infringement. Game Science could pursue legal action, leading to the game's removal from the eShop.

Wukong Sun: Black Legend's description reads: "Embark on an epic journey to the West. Play as the immortal Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, battling for order amidst chaos, powerful monsters, and deadly perils. Explore a story inspired by Chinese mythology, featuring intense battles, breathtaking locations, and legendary foes." This description echoes the core premise of Black Myth: Wukong, an incredibly popular RPG from a small Chinese studio that unexpectedly dominated Steam charts.

Black Myth: Wukong's success stems from its exceptional detail, captivating gameplay, and challenging yet accessible combat system. The combat, while demanding skill and reminiscent of the Souls-like genre, avoids overwhelming complexity, making it enjoyable for both veterans and newcomers. Visually stunning, the game boasts fluid animations and breathtaking battle sequences. Its strength lies in its captivating setting and artistic design, creating an immersive and unforgettable experience. Many gamers believe Black Myth: Wukong deserved a "Game of the Year 2024" nomination at The Game Awards.
