Path of Exile 1 Update Delayed Indefinitely Due to Path of Exile 2 Issues
Grinding Gear Games (GGG) has issued an apology to Path of Exile (PoE) 1 players for the indefinite delay of the 3.26 update. The update, initially slated for late October 2024, then mid-February 2025, has been postponed due to the unexpected challenges encountered with the launch of Path of Exile 2.
GGG had previously committed to continued support for PoE 1 even after the release of PoE 2. However, the studio diverted the PoE 1 development team to assist with resolving critical endgame issues in PoE 2 before its December launch. While initially believing they could return to PoE 1's 3.26 update in time for its February target, GGG's game director, Jonathan Rogers, admitted they underestimated the scope of the PoE 2 problems. These included numerous crashes and balance issues requiring immediate attention.
In a video message, Rogers explained the decision to prioritize PoE 2, stating that diverting resources away from a game experiencing significant technical difficulties would be irresponsible. PoE 2 itself faced a short delay and required immediate fixes.
The PoE 1 team remains focused on PoE 2, with their work continuing until at least the release of PoE 2's 0.2.0 update, and possibly for a couple of weeks beyond that. No release date for the PoE 1 3.26 update has been announced.
Rogers expressed sincere apologies for the delay and acknowledged GGG's overconfidence in managing two simultaneous game releases. He stated that the studio is learning from this experience and developing a plan to better structure its workflow for future simultaneous game development. The last league for PoE 1 was Settlers of Kalguur in July 2024.
Path of Exile 2 launched on December 6th, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, achieving significant success and becoming one of Steam's top 15 most-played games.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches officially on November 14, 2025, for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Players eager to test it first can join the open beta from October 5 to 8. Those who pre-order gain early access to a beta running fr
