Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct Returns on January 23rd, 2025
Get ready, Xbox fans! Microsoft has announced the next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, 2025, at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This marks the third annual installment of this showcase event, following successful presentations in 2023 and 2024. The event will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.
This year's showcase promises a glimpse into several highly anticipated titles. Already confirmed are:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: The latest entry in the iconic Doom franchise from id Software, initially revealed in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 release is rumored.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), first announced in June 2023. A release date is expected.
While these three games are confirmed, past Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple titles. Expect potential surprises beyond these announcements, mirroring the 2024 event which showcased games like Avowed, Ara: History Untold, and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.
