Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana masterfully introduces players to its bosses, enhancing their understanding of game mechanics as they progress. Although the game may not be as lengthy as other RPGs, it offers a robust lineup of challenging bosses to conquer.
Initially, players might need some guidance to get accustomed to the game's mechanics. However, by the time they face Gyalva, Lord of the Blazing Prison, they should have a solid grasp of combat, abilities, and other gameplay elements.
How to Beat Gyalva in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
- Boss Location: Zone of Lava, the Escapeless Abyss
- Boss Health: 1200 (Normal Difficulty)
After defeating Guilen, The Fire Eater, players will advance through the Zone of Lava to confront their next formidable opponent, Gyalva. The key to simplifying this battle is to position yourself at one of the bridge's ends.
Unlike previous encounters, movement is severely restricted, and the bridge's platforms are continuously disrupted by Gyalva's attacks. Players must leap towards Gyalva and utilize wind magic to maximize damage in the shortest possible time.
The Ys series remains a standout in Nihon Falcom's portfolio, and overcoming its bosses provides a deeply satisfying experience.
Gyalva’s List of Attacks in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, a remake of Ys 3, continues the franchise's epic narrative. Gyalva, a new addition to the series, boasts a variety of attacks that can quickly overwhelm unprepared players. During the battle, Gyalva flies around the bridge, often dislodging sections with its fiery assaults.
To tackle this challenge, it's advisable to upgrade Adol's abilities before facing Gyalva. Aim to reach at least Level 21 and enhance your gear. This level of preparation won't be overly time-consuming if you've been diligent in defeating smaller enemies along the way.
Spinning Attacks
Gyalva employs two types of spinning attacks. The first involves passing over a section of the bridge, causing the affected plates to spin into the air. The second sees Gyalva flying over the entire bridge in a straight line, flipping all the plates as it goes. Both attacks can severely damage underleveled players.
To evade the first attack, quickly move to the side of the affected area. For the second, the safest spots are the ledges at either end of the bridge. Staying near one side ensures a quick escape to safety.
Avoid lingering at the bridge's very end to prevent being cornered. Instead, maneuver around the bridge to strike Gyalva and then retreat to the nearest ledge.
Fire Blast
Gyalva launches a fireball onto the bridge, propelling the plates upward. While this attack inflicts damage, it also presents an opportunity to land multiple hits on Gyalva.
Bursting Torches
The bridge's torches sporadically emit bursts of flame, with fireballs passing between them. These bursts can harm players, but once they subside, it's safe to move through the area. Predicting these bursts can be challenging, so stay alert and move cautiously.
