“岩田先生也参与了想出《任天堂明星大乱斗》这个名字。我们让团队成员提出了许多可能的名称和我们可能使用的词语，”樱井政博在视频中详细解释道。然后，他们与《地球冒险》系列的创造者糸井重里先生举行了一次会议，最终确定了该系列的名称。樱井政博补充道：“岩田先生是选择‘兄弟’这个词的人。他的理由是，即使这些角色根本不是兄弟，使用这个词也增加了这样的细微差别：他们并非只是在战斗——他们是朋友，正在解决一些小争端！”
除了《任天堂明星大乱斗》的背景故事外，樱井政博还分享了他第一次遇到岩田聪以及对这位前任任天堂社长的其他美好回忆。据樱井政博说，岩田聪亲自帮助编写了《任天堂明星大乱斗》原型（当时名为《龙王：任天堂64格斗游戏》）的代码。
