Leak: Ubisoft is developing Rainbow Six Siege 2 with improved graphics

A recent leak from an insider, "fraxiswinning," suggests Ubisoft will unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled for February 14-16 at the MGM Music Hall. This purported sequel, codenamed "Siege X," reportedly utilizes an enhanced engine boasting upgraded visuals, including revamped textures and character models.

The leak further indicates that past temporary events from the original game might not return, with Ubisoft seemingly focusing on entirely new event content. A projected release date places the game launch during the second season of the game's tenth year of support—mid-2025.

This contradicts previous statements by Rainbow Six Siege creative director Alexander Karpazis, who previously downplayed the need for a full sequel, emphasizing the ongoing development of the current iteration. However, this leak suggests a potential shift in Ubisoft's strategy.

It's crucial to approach such rumors with skepticism. Until official confirmation from Ubisoft, this information remains purely speculative.

The Six Invitational 2025, the Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, is rapidly approaching. Twenty teams will compete in Boston for a $3,000,000 prize pool and the coveted championship title. Oxygen Esports, victors of the North American Last Chance Qualifier, secured the final qualifying spot.

The twenty-team tournament represents a unique structure. While Ubisoft might retain a similar format to last year—four round-robin groups of five teams, followed by a double-elimination playoff—alternative formats remain a possibility.

The anticipated playoff structure likely involves a first-place team receiving a first-round bye, fourth-place teams entering the lower bracket, the remaining teams starting in the upper bracket, and the last-place team in each group being eliminated.
