Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

May 06,2025 Author: Anthony

Starting today, Dell is offering an unbeatable deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now equipped with the cutting-edge GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, priced at just $2,399.99 with free shipping. This is one of the most competitive prices you'll find for an RTX 5080 prebuilt system, especially as other brands have been increasing their prices since the RTX 50 series debuted in January. At Dell, the only other RTX 5080-equipped prebuilt is priced over $4,000. And if you're considering building your own PC, good luck finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU without spending as much as you would on this complete system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC is packed with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, part of the Meteor Lake series, reaches a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz, features 20 cores, and a 30MB cache. It's kept cool with a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the system is powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is one of the three new Blackwell graphics cards that have hit the market and are incredibly hard to find. In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes, "If you already own a high-end graphics card from recent years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be the upgrade you're looking for – it doesn't significantly outpace the RTX 4080. However, the added frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do enhance gaming visuals in supported titles. For those with older graphics cards looking for a substantial performance boost, the RTX 5080 delivers, especially if you're eager to leverage Nvidia's AI enhancements."

Alienware's newly released 2025 Area-51 system is now available for order at Dell. This configuration comes with an upgraded Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, 64GB of RAM, and a 4TB M.2 SSD, currently priced at $4,649.99 after an instant $400 discount. The CPU is cooled by a 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the entire system is supported by a powerful 1,500W 80PLUS Platinum power supply. Dell expects to ship this system in early April.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis maintains a design similar to the 2024 R16 system but features minor aesthetic and cooling redesigns and updated components. The I/O panel is now at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window extends across the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are now at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design for a cleaner interior. The internal components have also been refreshed, including a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs Are Sold Out Everywhere

The initial batch of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards sold out within the first hour of preorders. The top-tier RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 were released first, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti in February. Similarly, prebuilt gaming PCs with these new GPUs are either sold out, have increased in price, or are facing significant delivery delays.
