Larian Studios, fresh off the monumental success of Baldur's Gate 3, is now fully dedicated to its next project. While minimal support continues for BG3, including the upcoming Patch 8 with added features, the studio's primary focus has shifted.

Before BG3's late 2023 release, Larian was already a CRPG powerhouse, known for the Divinity: Original Sin series. This established reputation and the success of BG3 – a game that garnered numerous Game of the Year awards and attracted a significantly wider audience – has heightened anticipation for their next endeavor.

In a statement, Larian confirmed its complete concentration on the new title, implementing a media blackout to maintain creative focus. While Patch 8 offers some additional BG3 content, the studio's future efforts are primarily directed elsewhere.

Details regarding Larian's post-BG3 project remain scarce. While a new studio was opened in mid-2024 to support two ambitious RPGs, the current status of that plan is unclear.
