A dedicated DOOM enthusiast, NyanSatan, has achieved the remarkable feat of running the classic DOOM game on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. This adapter, surprisingly, possesses its own iOS-based firmware and a processor clocked at up to 168 MHz. NyanSatan accessed the firmware and executed the game, utilizing a MacBook to overcome the adapter's lack of internal memory.
News regarding a new DOOM iteration also surfaced. DOOM: The Dark Ages will prioritize accessibility, allowing players to significantly adjust gameplay difficulty. This includes modifying enemy aggression, damage output, projectile speed, and even the overall game tempo and parry timing. Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasized this accessibility focus, stating the game is designed to be enjoyed by a broad audience, regardless of prior DOOM experience. He further clarified that understanding the storylines of DOOM: The Dark Ages and DOOM: Eternal doesn't require prior knowledge of either game.
