This guide explores the best Light Cones for The Herta in Honkai: Star Rail, a powerful 5-star Ice Erudition character. Her ideal stats focus on CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK, with a preference for Light Cones boosting CRIT Rate due to her inherent 80% CRIT DMG buff. Improvements to Skill and Ultimate damage are also highly beneficial.

The Herta's Light Cone options are assessed below, categorized by their availability and effectiveness:
The Seriousness of Breakfast (S5)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 846 | 476 | 396 |
S5 Passive: Increases wearer's DMG by 24%. ATK increases by 8% per defeated enemy, stacking up to 3 times.
A readily available free Light Cone (Lucent Afterglow, Echo of War, or hidden Herta Space Station task). Provides straightforward damage boosts, serving as a suitable early-game option.
The Day The Cosmos Fell (S5)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 953 | 476 | 331 |
S5 Passive: Increases wearer's ATK by 24%. CRIT DMG increases by 40% for 2 turns when hitting ≥2 enemies with a Weakness.
Another free Light Cone (Lucent Afterglow, Echo of War, or Golden Hour Origami Birds). Performance depends on consistently triggering the conditional CRIT DMG buff.
Eternal Calculus (S5)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 1058 | 529 | 396 |
S5 Passive: Increases wearer's ATK by 12% + 8% per enemy hit (stacks 5 times). SPD increases by 16% for 1 turn if hitting ≥3 enemies.
A free 5-star Light Cone from Herta's Store (Herta Bonds). ATK% boost varies with the number of targets. Solid when hitting multiple enemies; the SPD boost is advantageous.
Yet Hope Is Priceless (S1)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 952 | 582 | 529 |
S1 Passive: Increases wearer's CRIT Rate by 16%. Follow-up attack DMG increases based on CRIT DMG exceeding 120%. Ignores 20% target DEF for 2 turns after Basic ATK/Ultimate use.
While providing a CRIT Rate boost, The Herta doesn't fully utilize its follow-up attack buffs. Consider other F2P options first.
Geniuses' Repose (S5)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 846 | 476 | 396 |
S5 Passive: Increases wearer's ATK by 32%. CRIT DMG increases by 48% for 3 turns per defeated enemy.
A strong 4-star Light Cone from the standard Stellar Warp. Provides substantial ATK and CRIT DMG boosts, but effectiveness decreases in prolonged single-target battles.
An Instant Before A Gaze (S1)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 1058 | 582 | 463 |
S1 Passive: Increases wearer's CRIT DMG by 36%. Ultimate DMG increases based on Max Energy (up to 64.8% at 180 Energy).
Offers a significant CRIT DMG boost and Ultimate DMG increase. However, The Herta benefits more from Skill DMG or general DMG boosts.
Before Dawn (S1)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 1058 | 582 | 463 |
S1 Passive: Increases wearer's CRIT DMG by 36% and Skill/Ultimate DMG by 18%. Follow-up attack DMG increases by 48% after using Skill/Ultimate (Somnus Corpus).
Provides excellent unconditional stats, boosting CRIT DMG and both Skill and Ultimate damage. The Herta cannot utilize the follow-up attack buff.
Today Is Another Peaceful Day (S5)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 846 | 529 | 330 |
S5 Passive: DMG increases based on Max Energy (up to 64% at 160 Energy).
An exceptional 4-star Light Cone offering a substantial unconditional damage boost, particularly effective for The Herta due to her high Energy cost. High base ATK is also a significant advantage.
Night on the Milky Way (S1)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 1164 | 582 | 396 |
S1 Passive: ATK increases by 9% per enemy (up to 45% with 5 enemies). DMG increases by 30% for 1 turn when a Weakness Break is inflicted.
A strong 5-star option from the standard Stellar Warp. Performance hinges on maintaining multiple enemies and Weakness Breaks.
Into the Unreachable Veil (S1)
| HP | ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 953 | 635 | 463 |
S1 Passive: Increases wearer's CRIT Rate by 12%. Skill and Ultimate DMG increase by 60% for 3 turns after using Ultimate. Recovers 1 Skill Point after using Ultimate if it consumed ≥140 Energy.
The Herta's signature Light Cone and her best-in-slot option. Provides significant CRIT Rate and Skill/Ultimate damage boosts, along with Skill Point recovery. Highest base ATK among Erudition Light Cones.
