The Pokemon Company Issues Statement on Pokemon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Shortage

The Pokémon Company addresses ongoing shortages of its highly anticipated Prismatic Evolutions expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). Acknowledging widespread supply issues, the company assures fans that reprints are underway and will soon be distributed to retailers.

This statement marks the first official recognition of the problem, following considerable fan frustration expressed across social media. The company attributes the shortages to "high demand," avoiding speculation about scalping as a contributing factor. A company representative stated, "We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity."

Reprint Timeline:

While a precise date for increased availability remains unconfirmed, the Pokémon Company confirms that Prismatic Evolutions reprints are in production and will reach licensed distributors shortly.

Future Releases:

Beyond the initial January 17th release, additional Prismatic Evolutions products are planned for release throughout 2025, including:

  • Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7th)
  • Booster Bundle (March 7th)
  • Accessory Pouch Special Collection (April 25th)
  • Super-Premium Collection (May 16th)
  • Premium Figure Collection (September 26th)

Players can also obtain Prismatic Evolutions cards in the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game starting January 16th via the Battle Pass. The Pokémon Company expresses gratitude for fans' patience and commitment to the TCG.
