World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, "Undermined," introduces two exciting new race types: Breakneck D.R.I.V.E. races and Skyrocket races. These replace traditional Skyriding races in Undermine, the subterranean Goblin capital city. Undermine itself is a unique environment, foregoing flying in favor of the D.R.I.V.E. system—customizable, high-speed cars that navigate the city's streets. Breakneck races fully utilize the D.R.I.V.E. system's potential for thrilling speed challenges.
Complementing the ground-based racing is a new aerial challenge: Skyrocket races. These races utilize Goblin jetpacks for a unique blend of flight and racing mechanics. Unlike traditional flying or Skyriding, players maintain momentum but cannot stop mid-air, creating a dynamic and engaging experience. As demonstrated by WoW content creator MrGM, collecting rings increases speed, but also reduces maneuverability, adding a layer of strategic complexity.
Undermine's no-fly zone eliminates Skyriding races. However, both Breakneck and Skyrocket races offer Bronze, Silver, and Gold time achievements. Reverse versions of all races exist, though advanced or challenge courses, common in Skyriding races, are absent.

Initial reactions to Skyrocket races are mixed. Some players express excitement, while others find the flight controls stiff compared to Skyriding. As Patch 11.1 is still under development, further refinements are expected before its anticipated February release.
