This new gaming console will be available in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system, exclusive to Japan, and a Multi-Language System designed for global markets. The Japanese version is set to retail at approximately $330, while the Multi-Language System will be priced at $449.99, reflecting a significant over $100 difference. This price disparity is largely due to the current exchange rate, with the yen being weaker against the USD, making it less appealing for tourists to buy in Japan.
Residents in Japan will have the option to purchase the Multi-Language System, but the Japanese-language version will only be available within Japan. This version requires a Nintendo Account set to Japan as the Country/Region, and it will only support the Japanese language. Additionally, the software available on the Nintendo eShop for this version will be exclusive to the Japanese region.
For those eager to use the Nintendo Switch 2 in languages other than Japanese, Nintendo recommends opting for the Multi-Language System version. Further details regarding this version will be disclosed on April 4.
To acquire the Nintendo Switch 2, customers will have the opportunity to participate in a lottery through the My Nintendo Store.
