在《博德之门3》中，玩家可以选择与Halsin发展浪漫关系，Halsin是一位能够变成熊的德鲁伊。虽然熊形态的设定最初是为了战斗，但Halsin的变身能力却演变成了一种浪漫元素，展现了Halsin在情感强烈时刻努力维持人形的挣扎。Welch分享说，这个概念并非Halsin最初的计划，而是源于游戏的同人创作社区。

Welch指出，围绕粉丝创作内容的讨论往往会在主要故事情节结束后、粉丝停止玩游戏很久之后，仍然保持游戏社区的活跃度。Welch补充说，这个社区对女性和LGBTQIA+玩家尤其具有吸引力，她们自游戏发行近一年以来，一直是BG3集体热潮的重要推动力。

“具体来说，变成熊这件事最初只是我提出的另一个场景中的一个玩笑，因为我认为它不会有什么发展，”Welch透露，“但后来Swen[Vincke]和John[Corcoran]，也就是Halsin的编剧——当他们创作更多主要的爱情场景时——他们想，‘哦，让我们把这个想法提出来，升级它，让它成为这个角色的主要内容。’”
