Helldivers 2's incredible winning streak continues. The game has just secured two BAFTA Game Awards, taking home Best Multiplayer and Best Music. This comes from a total of five nominations. These BAFTA victories cap off a highly successful awards season for video games, closing the chapter on what has been an extraordinary year for Swedish developer Arrowhead.

It's worth remembering that Helldivers 2 holds the record as the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game ever, achieving a staggering 12 million copies sold in just 12 weeks. This is a record that likely won't be surpassed by any first-party Sony title. However, much has unfolded since that explosive launch: a significant reversal on PSN account requirements for Steam, organized review-bombing campaigns, and a community often in conflict with the game's own balancing changes, where nerfs and buffs seemed either too extreme or insufficient.
Throughout all of this, Arrowhead has faced the challenge of managing a larger, more mainstream audience than ever before. Now, 14 months after Helldivers 2's arrival on PC and PlayStation 5, how does the team look back on everything that has happened? Have they finally started to master the demanding world of live-service gaming? And following the recent Killzone collaboration, could a Warhammer 40,000 crossover be next?
IGN recently spoke with Alex Bolle, Production Director for Helldivers 2, to get the full story.
